Learning her name dot by dot!

Transitioning from constant activities at daycare to free time at home with mommy is not always easy for a two year old. As much as I want to say I have enough energy to keep her entertained ALL day...that is not the case. At daycare crafts and projects is Braeleighs favorite part of the day. She loves to cut, glue, paint, and color anything she can. With that being said I am trying to do more projects/crafts with her. The first week of summer we did Dot painting. So easy and she LOVED it. I found an old "bingo dotter"(I don't know what you call them...I don't even know why I had one) in the craft closet and heard on a TLC show once that dot painting was a good way to get your child to learn how to spell/write their name. On several pieces of construction paper I wrote Braeleighs name REAL big with pen. We worked on the first one together as I showed her how to dot each letter following the lines mommy made. She really enjoyed this and I will continue to use this fantastic idea! Thanks TLC.

Here is one of the final products, Great Job Brae!

Great idea, I think I'm going to steal this. We do Landry's name sometimes outside with sidewalk chalks.
